About Christon Hill

Christon Hill is the Vice President of Life Cycle Management for BTG and a leader in the biotech and pharmaceutical sector. Christon has worked for BTG since 2011 and has been the company’s VP of Life Cycle Management since 2017.

Christon Hill attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. He is currently in the process of obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

Christon Hill has extensive experience in cGMP manufacturing, as well as manufacturing and development global project management experience. Christon’s biotechnology work often focuses on CMC and product development for clinical stage products through to NDA/BLA/MAA stage. He also has a strong background in leading cross-functional teams for product and process development and key regulatory submissions.

Christon Hill has worked for BTG since 2011. He started there as the Senior Manager of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) before being promoted to Director of CMC, and then to his current role as Vice President. As VP, Christion oversees clinical, manufacturing, technical, and scientific development programs for the company’s business unit. He also leads the Specialty Pharma R+D program and engages and discovers new opportunities to expand the product pipeline. He is also responsible for building, recruiting, and training the R+D program team to be fit for purpose, nimble, and ensure scientific excellence.

Christon Hill has led numerous biotech process development projects. These projects include mammalian cell culture, microbial and yeast cell culture, recovery, downstream purification, formulation, and aseptic vial/syringe fill development. He continuously operates with a keen adherence to the scientific method. He is known for his innovative problem-solving skills, as well as his expertise in technology transfer, process development, product development, and troubleshooting. Christon holds three patents, and he currently has one pending for research in formulation and process development.

During his time at BTG, Christon Hill has established a path to develop a new analytical method for mimicking the efficacy of the polyclonal antibody lines. He has also identified a formulation for extending the half-life of polyclonal antibody product lines by at least 24 hours and established room-temperature and liquid formulations of Crotalidae polyvalent immune fab (CroFab). He is consistently searching for ways to innovate, develop, and improves methods to uncover value in BTG Specialty Pharm product lines.

Christon Hill has had a lifelong passion for science. He frequently spends time outside of working reading scientific journals. He is eager to learn about everything science-related, especially regarding healthcare, biology, and chemistry developments. In addition to these interests, Christon is also passionate about alternative energy and efficiency improvements. He believes that there is ample opportunity to advance the world through science, and he wants to play a role in those improvements. 

Outside of science and healthcare, Christon Hill enjoys video games, television, and movies. He loves watching Star Wars, Marvel movies, and comedic television series like The Office, Arrested Development, Community, and My Name is Earl. His favorite video games are Lords Mobile, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Lego games, and the Final Fantasy series. Christon also enjoys hiking, swimming, and riding roller coasters.
